Taking Accountability For Our Dreams
When we are working towards a goal—whether it's a career milestone, gaining skill in a sport, or something else entirely—having someone who can keep you accountable goes a long way. Even when we're putting in the effort, it's easy to find ourselves training as the person we were yesterday, rather than striving to become the person we want to be.
We might get used to simply working toward a distant goal, and in the process, start running in circles—repeating the same tasks without looking ahead to where we need to go. Having someone who sees our talents, even in ordinary moments, can help us cultivate them. The same goes for our horses: when we see their potential, like a sculptor sees the finished piece in a lump of clay, the masterpiece of the horse’s true capabilities can shine through.
That doesn't mean we have to be perfect or at our best every day. Instead, it's about holding ourselves and our horses accountable to the dream we're working toward. The people we surround ourselves with can have a massive impact on our progress. Sometimes, all we need is one person—a coach, a friend, or a family member—who can be our cheerleader, stick with us through tough times, and shine a light to help us keep going.
Reaching for a meaningful life is a challenging journey, but having a supportive community along the way can make all the difference!
